Maria Chantzaridou’s artistic practice examines the intersections of daily life, personal experience, and contemporary visual culture, with a particular focus on the dynamics of the food service industry. While her professional role does not define her artistic identity, it serves as a conceptual framework that informs both the thematic and aesthetic dimensions of her work.

Her paintings employ humor and self-irony as critical tools, favoring a nuanced and accessible approach over overt satire. Through the abstraction of realistic human figures into symbolic, exaggerated forms, she constructs a distinct visual language characterized by bold color palettes, playful distortions, and references to early 3D video game aesthetics.
